✶ Meet The Artist ✶

Hi, I’m Keri Flora! I’m an independent, multi-media artist based in Charleston, SC.

I work mostly in mid-fire stoneware, where I enjoy exploring themes of medieval, carnivalesque, and botanical whimsy, which often include imagery inspired by my cats Archer (Archie) and Nematode (Toadie).

I love how pottery forces you to loosen up and relinquish control of your work because things don’t always go as planned and can change at any point in the process.

Outside of ceramics, I’m inspired by the fragility and beauty of the human psyche. My favorite mediums include alkyd oil paint on engraved copper or glass, watercolor, and cross-stitch. My work also includes spooky-cute elements, female form, and organic themes of nature and flora, inspired by my last name.

Everything I create feels like an extension of myself, be it in the physical reference photos or in my personal thoughts and ideas I’m longing to portray. Some are heavier thoughts than others, but each takes a piece of me with it as if I’m literally crafting my own legacy each time I move my hands.

I’m so happy you’ve found my work and love that some of my pieces may be destined to share a home with you. If they do, I hope they bring you as much joy as I’ve found in making them.
